ASSEMBLY FITTER / MECHANICAL FITTER
Location: Kettering
Salary: £9.61
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
Applicants MUST HAVE: Experience of setting and operating machine tools in a similar environment. Knowledge of operating equipment with FANUC control systems is desirable.
The COMPANY
Our client is a world leader in the manufacture of bespoke printing machinery for the book industry. Each press takes up to 20 months to build and is designed exactly to the client's specifications. Every press is erected and print-tested within the factory before dispatch.
The ROLE
The successful candidate will be required to:
* To assist departmental manager in fulfilling production requirements.
* Interpret assembly drawings.
* Building small sub-assemblies and large units in a team environment.
* Assemblies involving key fitting spur and helical gear drives.
* Pre-loading of taper roller bearings and plane bearings.
* Expansion/contraction fitting (induction heaters/use of liquid nitrogen).
* Basic pneumatic operation and fault diagnosis.
* Comply with all relevant health & safety Practices.
The CANDIDATE
Our client is looking for strong applicants with the following experience:
* Small to large assemblies involving key fitting spur and helical gear drives.
* Pre-loading of taper roller bearings and plane bearings.
* Have an appreciation of "limits and fits".
* Have an appreciation of practical fault finding/correction procedures.
* Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret assembly drawings correctly
* Develop other skills as required eg pre-install ancillary.
