My name is Shamin. I am a qualified Primary school teacher with previous tutoring experience. I have completed a Science BA (QTS) from The University of Warwick in 2002. During the last 7 years I have worked with children from Nursery to Year 6 and also Special schools. I have worked in several schools in cities such as Coventry, Birmingham, Nuneaton and now Leicester.

My students have gone onto passing 11+ examination and gained confidence in their learning. I use a very child centred approach. I believe in working with my pupil and fully understanding their needs which includes identifying the style of learning that best suits them. Making learning; not just fun, but also challenging. Setting targets so that clear progression can be seen once they are achieved.

In order to do this I do have a orientation session in which to assess the child’s level at school and to get an idea of the scheme of work that is being used in the child’s school (if available).

My main subjects include:
- English (KS1/2/3)
- Maths (KS1/2)
- Science (kS1/2)

The fee I charge is £20 p/h which can vary on distance travelled.

I do also tuition from my home, which some parents prefer. The benefit to this is that my resources are all at hand and the child is out of his comfort zone.
