A large primary school in Leicestershire is looking to recruit an excellent early years teacher to cover a two term maternity leave. The headteacher is looking for an outstanding practitioner who is familiar and worked with the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and has experience of working in an early years setting. The position is to start in January and is expecting to last 2 terms depending on the teacher's return.

 

The majority of the pupils are learning English as an additional language as this is a vibrant school with a diverse ethnic mix of pupils. The standards of the pupils coming into the EYFS are below the national average however by Year 6 grades for Maths, English and Science are to the national standard.

 

In their most recent OfSTED inspection they received outstanding results.OfSTED commented that the pupils' attitudes to learning are exceptional and they enjoy school greatly. Their ability to concentrate in lessons, coupled with outstanding teaching,enables them to make excellent progress academically and in their personal development and well-being.

 

This Leicestershire primary school has extremely strong links with the community and encourage learning together. The parental support in the school is very high and a large number of the parents attend the school as helpers in the classroom and in out of school clubs.

 

Skills Required

To be eligible for this position there are certain skills that are required:



- UK Qualified Teacher Status

- Experience of working to the EYFS curriculum

- Experience of working within an early years setting

- Excellent team player

- Good classroom management skills

- Willingness to promote learning
