Rutland County Council is situated in the heart of rural England and is the smallest mainland unitary authority, having responsibility for all local government services in the historic county of Rutland. The council offices are based in Oakham, the County town of Rutland. Rich in history and character, Oakham is now a bustling market town situated about 100 miles North of London, 20 miles from Leicester and Peterborough, and less than an hour's drive from Nottingham.

A new opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join their busy Property Services Section, managing a programme of capital building works across their impressive portfolio of Primary Schools. 

The Package

·         Salary £35,079 - £36,838

·         37 hours per week - flexi time available

The successful candidate will have a clear understanding of all aspects of the construction process and be able to manage all associated complexities and risks. You should be able to demonstrate sound experience of working with a wider project team including procuring, directing and monitoring consultants, as well as team management, motivation and supervision. The role will require you to lead a team of in-house and external staff.

The role requires a candidate who has excellent organisational skills, focused and proactive, with the ability to work under pressure and apply analytical thinking and problem solving at a detailed level. You will have highly developed skills in budget management and report writing. Your communication skills should be excellent, understanding the importance of working with internal and external partners and customers on a day to day basis, as well as high level reporting to the Project Board.
