Business Person needed to advise a group of students at a school in Birstall
Young Enterprise is the UK’s largest business and enterprise education charity.
Young Enterprise offers a range of programmes for young people from 4 years of age through to 18. The Young Enterprise programmes are all based on the principle of learning by doing and bring volunteers from business into the classroom to work with the teacher and students.
We run a programme called Company Programme, where a group of students get together after school and setup and run their own real life company. Students are aged between 14 and 18.
Students are responsible for selling shares to raise initial capital, appointing Director roles, creating a product or service, marketing and selling, along with all aspects of running a real company.

However this journey is very much a learning opportunity for the students and to understand the trails and tribulations that companies face.
I am looking for an experienced business person who could give one hour a week, to help support a school in Birstall.
A Business Advisor would attend the company meetings and be a; source of knowledge, a motivator, a consultant and a facilitator of learning to the students.
The main objectives of an Adviser is to help students to run a successful company, learn from the experience and enjoy doing it. It is important to understand that even if a Young Enterprise company is not a great commercial success it can still provide an excellent learning experience. It is an opportunity for the students to use their initiative and be creative.
