Support Worker
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To work within the team to meet the needs of homeless individuals throughout their stay in the night shelter.
DUTIES
1. To ensure that the Shelter is opened to service users on time and ensure that the conditions of entry are complied with and risk assessment failure documents are completed fully and signed by both staff members.
2. To maintain the security of the Shelter throughout the shift reporting any defects on the relevant forms and complete the building check record accordingly.
3. To work with Night Shelter volunteers as part of a team
4. To ensure activities take place and encourage service users to take part in them
5. The primary role is to interact with the service users in order to maintain a comfortable, friendly environment.
To take joint responsibility with your co-worker ensuring that the minimum standards are met in all areas.
