Dear applicant,

Thank you for your interest in working with us. I’m Bonnie Chamberlain (the Employer) This letter tells you a little about the way it works here, the people involved and the nature of the jobs.

I have Cerebral Palsy that effects my limb movements and my speech, I'm in a wheelchair but this doesn’t stop me living my life in the way I wish. I'm very outgoing, active and fun to work for. I do not stop, “sleep when I'm dead”.
I live with my 5 year old son Caelum and my 5 month old son Baby Free Born (yet to be named)
Caelum goes to Montessori school (in Leicester) 5 days a week. The Montessori method mirrors Mark’s and my believes on how to bring up children, many people find this hard to follow, as we allow Caelum the freedom to choose his own path, we try to reframe from telling him what we believe to be right or wrong but we guide him and support him in his choices that we agree with. New baby will have a very similar up bringing.
We also have a dog Jessie, (cross between a Briton Fries and a Spitz) she is very playful and lovely, though it’s proving it to be hard to house train her!

I like to know I’ve got everything covered to allow everyone the freedom we so need, the house works so much better if we all feel free.


I understand the job of a P.A / Mother’s Help is really hard as you need to step out of your world and your ways of doing things and step into my world and assist me in my ways that you might not agree with.
I like to think I'm flexible, understanding and easy to talk to if anyone has a problem or anything.


Personal Assistants:

I have 2 Personal Assistants (P.A’s) each working on a 1 week on, 1 week off rotor to give me 24/7 assistance, which enables me to live an full independent life and do everything I would do if I hadn’t got an disability. Although I prefer the 2 week rotor, this is negotiable.
I’m also looking for extra people to assist me around the house and with the children, this could be either a live in or a live out position.

The P.A’s are on call during the night when Caelum, Baby or myself need assistance.
Some times the P.A’s find themselves sitting around with little to do, when Caelum’s at school, family might have baby or baby might be asleep and I'm working on my computer,
Other days I might decide to have a big sort out, go on a mad shopping spree, or something of a kind, other times when Caelum’s off school, he’s sick or I take him out, also I will need help with baby, these times the P.A’s don’t get time free.

As a P.A you’re my arms, legs and speech, therefore I'll tell you the ways I like things doing, I'll tell you what to say / do with Caelum, Baby and the house hold duties etc.
I like to do things on the spare of the moment, it hasn’t been unknown that I say ‘I wanna go America’ and 4 days later I’m there! I like rock music, I love Bon Jovi and when they tour I tour!
I drink and smoke and I need assistance with this as well as personal care, toileting, bathing, feeding and general day to day activities.

Wages are calculated on an self employed basis and this varies on whether or not you can drive in the UK and travel to the USA.
