You should be highly motivated and committed to providing support that will enable individuals to achieve increasing independence within the community. In your role as a Support Worker, you will assist people with every day aspects of their lives eg cooking, shopping, budgeting, attending appointments, participating in social/leisure activities and personal care. You will be supporting individuals both in their own homes and in the community. You should have patience, enthusiasm, commitment, initiative and understanding combined with excellent communication skills.
