Reading Music for Singers class
Sing in a choir but don’t know what the dots mean? A class for singers who want to learn to read music is being offered on Wednesday October 21st at the Fosse Neighbourhood Centre, Mantle Road from 7-8:45pm. The session is run by local community choir Fosse Singers and aims to teach the basics of sight reading music and music theory in the context of a choir, though it is suitable for instrumentalists also.
The evening will involve vocal and rhythm games as well as give you plenty of hand outs to revise with at home.
Hannah Brine, leader of Fosse Singers explains:
‘Like anything, reading music is actually quite simple when you know how. Lots of singers who have a basic understanding of reading music find that it helps them learn songs faster and enhances their singing experience. We aim to make this evening as useful and simple as possible.’
