Volunteers Needed in Schools (1 day volunteering opportunities)
Young Enterprise is the UK’s largest business and enterprise education charity.
Young Enterprise offers a range of programmes for young people from 4 years of age through to 18. The Young Enterprise programmes are all based on the principle of learning by doing and bring volunteers from business into the classroom to work with the teacher and students.
We are looking for volunteers who can give-up one day of their time to work with a classroom of students. We work with schools throughout Leicester and Leicestershire.
We work with both Primary (ages 4-11 year olds) and Secondary (ages 11-18 year olds.)
A volunteer would work in partnership with the class teacher and deliver one of our programmes. Full training and support is given prior to each delivery.
In return volunteers can;
• Develop and hone their own management skills; in particular communication, interpersonal and team working skills
• Develop self-confidence
• Increase their knowledge; about business and education
• Have the opportunity to meet other similarly committed people
• Take an active role in making a real difference to the lives and future of young people in Leicester
The only experience that you need is the desire to work with young people and some sort of working history, whether that is a Manager for a large commercial business or a Shop Assistant in the local newsagents.
All volunteers will be policed checked, paid for by Young Enterprise.
Working with young people can be challenging but is equally stimulating and could just be the most dynamic company you’ll ever work with!
